Civil Engineering (Master, full-time)
Goals
The accredited consecutive Master in Civil Engineering offers particularly qualified graduates with a bachelor’s degree or diploma (FH) the opportunity for further qualification.
The study programme is a continuation of the bachelor programme and is based on scientific principles and methods of civil engineering. It offers deepened expertise in one of the three areas of focus:
- Construction Operation
- Construction Engineering
- Planning and Environment.
Methods and systematic skills needed to recognise and solve complex technical problems independently will be taught. Students acquire an independent and team-minded profile and are able to work responsibly as experts on all levels of the changing profession of civil engineering.
After a normal study time of three semesters , students are granted the academic degree „Master of Engineering (M.Eng.)“.
Professional Prospects
Graduates of the master programme are in demand by the same employers as graduates of the bachelor programme. However, they are normally employed in areas requiring more expertise and personal competence. Graduates of the master programme also have the opportunity to take civil service examinations and work in civil service. A further professional field open to them is research and development. The possibility to continue on for a doctorate makes it possible to pursue an academic career.
