Promotion of Women

There is still the requirement of creating a forum where problems on the topic of women can be discussed.

In concrete terms, there are still shortfalls with regard to equal opportunities for women in society and in particular at the University of Applied Sciences.

Thus, women at the University of Applied Sciences are at a structural disadvantage compared to men. In education, research and administration they occupy fewer management positions. In many cases they must interrupt their much worse paid jobs due to the upbringing of their children or work part-time and therefore only have insufficient old-age benefits.

There are legal principles for implementing equal opportunities on all levels. The University and College Act is the central legal basis for women’s work at the University of Applied Sciences Mainz.
