Study programme Interior Architecture (Diploma)
The diploma programme Interior Architecture has no longer been offered since summer semester 2007. The study programme now complies with the guidelines for the bachelor programme Interior Design / Interior Architecture.
Information about the bachelor study programme Interior Design / Interior Architecture
The design of interior space, the conception and construction of artificial rooms, their proportions, materials and colours and the use of light are the key aspects of the study programme. The fundamentals are taught in four semesters, with an extensive course offer embracing artistic, constructional and technical subjects. These are deepened in four further semesters of advanced studies, either in the area Interior Space Design or the design of space-linked products, furniture, lighting etc., Interior Product Design.
An internship semester or semester abroad is integrated into the advanced study semesters. Course-related exams lead to an intermediate diploma after the basic studies, advanced studies are concluded with a diploma thesis and lead to the academic degree of Graduate Engineer (FH).
Professional Perspectives
Graduates of the Faculty Interior Architecture have good prospects on the job market due to their multi-faceted education. They can work in the offices of architects or interior architects or in public departments, in exhibition construction, furniture stores or product development or last but not least establish themselves as self-employed interior architects.
