"Portfolio" Study programme Interior Architecture

Study programme Interior Design / Interior Architecture (Bachelor of Arts)

Expanding space beyond its boundaries is the central theme of all disciplines belonging to interior architecture. The unlimited reality of space as an abstract void is intangible and not visible. Only the physical realisation of peripheries expresses the shape of a space. Ultimately, materiality and light, colour and smells define the contents and the atmospheric quality of internal space.

The bachelor study programme Interior Design / Interior Architecture teaches scientific, artistic, creative and constructional methods. Developments in material technology and constructional design as well as theoretical positions in the field of architecture are constantly brought up to date and integrated into the study programme together with new developments in media technology. Fundamental subject matter is modularised and described in detail in the curriculum. The modules are connected vertically and horizontally. This structure makes it possible to map different integrated connections. Apart from classical lectures and seminars the course contains active work and discussion phases.

The study programme lasts 6 semesters and is concluded with a final project which applies basic skills and leads to a degree as Bachelor of Arts. The consecutive master programme allows an academic discussion of more complex current issues in the communications field of space.
